Now You Can Get Stronger, Increase Lean Muscle Mass and Improve Recovery with a Once-
A-Day, Easy-To-Mix, Great-Tasting Muscle Building Drink If you're a serious, drug-free
athlete GLUTAMINE SELECT Plus BCAAs may be the most important supplement you can
take. You know it takes heavy, intense training to stimulate your muscles to grow. But hard
training also breaks down muscle tissue, in fact, the harder you train, the more muscle you
break down and the more your recovery system is compromised.
That's why you need to quickly replenish those muscle aminos most affected by hard
training, namely glutamine and the branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and
valine. We wanted to find out the fastest, easiest and best way to do this. The research
helped us find the solution.
Formulated From Research
A recent study in Current Therapeutic Research, scientists examined the effects of adding
the precise formulation of glutamine and branched chain amino acids found in Beverly's
Glutamine Select Plus BCAAs on experienced weight trainers. Sixteen men were divided
into two groups. Subjects in each group followed a similar diet, including a 40-gram daily
serving of whey protein, and a supervised weight training program for ten weeks. The
experimental group received additionaly 5 grams L-Glutamine and 3 grams BCAAs (1500
mg of leucine, 750 mg of isoleucine and 750 mg of valine). Precise body composition
measures and repetition maxes on the bench press (at 100% bodyweight) and leg press
(200% bodyweight) were recorded at the start of the experiment and again ten weeks later.

Creatine Select - Plus Phosphate - $29.95
Serving Size: 12g (1 scoop)
Servings per container 41
Calories 20; Sodium 60mg
Carbohydrates 5g;
Sugar < 1g
Ingredients: Creatine Monohydrate (5g), Maltodextrin (5g), Potassium Phosphate (700mg),
Sodium Phosphate (300mg) Beverly International’s scientifically advanced formulation of
100% pharmacological grade pure creatine monohydrate plus selected phosphates is
designed to increase creatine absorption, uptake, retention and ATP resynthesis.
Training and Performance
Creatine Select Plus Phosphates allows you to train harder with greater intensity and
recover faster. Increase training poundages and the number of reps you can get with a
given weight. Reduce your rest between sets for added intensity.
Here’s Why CREATINE SELECT Plus Phosphates is Superior to Other Forms of Creatine
There is no doubt that pure creatine monohydrate is one of the most effective supplements
on the market. But the fusion of creatine plus phosphates makes a good supplement into a
super synergistic supplement combination.
For creatine to be effective in the muscle cell it must combine with a phosphate. The
amount of creatine that is utilizable is dependent on the amount of phosphate your body has
available. If there is not enough phosphate then your muscle will load less creatine. Adding
phosphates allows your body to load and retain more creatine. In short you’ll increase your
strength and muscle mass.
The presence of additional phosphates during exercise can improve your body’s ability to
regenerate ATP. More ATP results in more reps with less fatigue.
5 More Reasons Why Creatine Select Will Become Your Favorite Supplement
• Great tasting–mixes instantly in water.
• Maximum results–select phosphates lower stomach acid levels that can destroy creatine.
SELECT CREATINE Plus Phosphates allows more creatine to enter the muscle cells.
• Rapid transport into the muscles–the advanced sodium / potassium phosphate matrix
rapidly shuttles creatine into the muscle cell without the need of simple sugar.
• Research Proven–Recent studies have demonstrated that adding phosphates to creatine
results in increased power and a near three-fold improvement in anaerobic working capacity
(Wallace et al. 1997) (Eckerson 2001).
• Fast Results–You’ll notice increased strength and endurance in just 5 days or we’ll give
you a 100% refund.
Now You Can Build Muscle Faster Than Ever Before
• Lift Heavier
• Get More Reps
• Take Less Rest Between Sets
by Roger Riedinger, Beverly International Let’s face it. There are enough training and
nutrition theories to fill a complete set of Encyclopedia Britannica’s. But realms of muscle
building philosophy really come down to just one thing. You must overload your muscles by
progressive exercise in order to grow.
Milo of Croton is credited with this discovery. Milo lifted and carried an infant calf each day
from one end of his pasture to the other. As the calf grew so did Milo’s strength and muscle
size. By the time the calf was a full-grown bull Milo was the biggest and strongest guy in the
land.
Fact or fiction? Who knows? What’s important is Milo set the stage for progressive weight
training as we know it today. To get bigger and stronger you must progressively add weight
to the bar. It’s really that simple… At first, anyway. Then progress halts. You might add
weight to the bar but your reps drop. Maybe if you rest a little longer between sets you can
get the reps...
It happens to all of us. We reach a plateau. Muscle and strength gains stop.
I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve been training since I was fourteen. What I’ve learned about
training and nutrition in the forty plus years since could fill a book. But progressive training
still comes down to just three variables – increase the weight on the bar, increase the
number of reps without decreasing the weight, or rest less between sets. If you progress in
any of these three variables, muscle gains will follow given proper nutrition.
Nutrition wasn’t my problem. After all I own Beverly International. We make the highest
quality products in the industry and I have access to all of them. My problem is sticking to my
diet and supplement schedule while a million and one things pull me every which way. I
need something easy. Something to help me make strength gains. And something to help
me recover faster between sets so I can reduce my training time without decreasing volume
or intensity.
You’ve got to remember I was already taking high tech Beverly formulas. My nutrition was
kind of maxed out by now. So what else was left for me to do?
I’d been looking at various creatine formulas out there and I was utterly unimpressed. Some
of the best selling products out there have nearly ten times as much sugar as actual
creatine. Sure it will spike your insulin. So will cotton candy. Sugar makes you fat–Period.
There is no way Beverly’s going to put all that sugar into a creatine “transport” system.
Next I looked at insulin support nutrients. I was still unconvinced. Why pay for what you don’t
need.
Then one day it hit me... Creatine Phosphate–Duh!
Sure, I knew the creatine phosphate molecule was too large to be absorbed and that’s why
we use pure 100% pharmacological grade Creatine Monohydrate at Beverly. But, it didn’t
dawn on me until now that we could combine select creatine monohydrate with selected
phosphates in the proper ratio to achieve a product that would increase strength, endurance
and muscle size.
Not creatine phosphate but creatine monohydrate PLUS phosphates.
Now it was time to do the research. Here’s what I found: Hundreds of research studies on
the benefits of creatine monohydrate and phosphates individually and two very significant
studies where creatine and phosphates were combined.
The creatine plus phosphate group had a significant increase in muscle power. This
translates to more weight on the bar. (Wallace et al, 1997.)
The combination of creatine plus phosphates out performed the creatine only group by
nearly 300% in aerobic work capacity, i.e. more reps in the gym with the same weight.
(Eckerson, 2001.)
So I had our lab find the correct ratio of creatine and the specific phosphates used in the
research. Then, without me even knowing they added an excellent orange flavor and a small
amount of an extremely high-grade maltodextrin. (They know that I don’t like simple sugar
so they used a predominantly five-chain saccharide which is classified as a complex carb.) I
received sample A and sample B. The first thing we did was conduct a taste test. The lab
used the same research proven creatine to phosphate ratio but varied only the flavoring
ingredients. Sample B won hands down. So that was what we decided to use in our field
study.
Then, I decided to "hog" the product. For five days I loaded sample B–four servings per day.
A serving is one 12g scoop. And the scoop actually reaches the bottom of the jar. By the
third day I was already noticing my rest periods were getting shorter and shorter between
sets. Then after the loading phase I took just one scoop (sometimes two) before training.
My weights and reps kept going up. Now I’ve used creatine before and I certainly have been
training long enough to know when something is out of the ordinary. Here I am, fifty-five
years old and getting stronger. What’s up with that?
I’ll tell you what! The Beverly labs created a state of the art supplement that works fast
CREATINE SELECT Plus Phosphates.
Try CREATINE SELECT Plus Phosphates for Yourself... Here’s How
For anyone who has reached a plateau and wants to start gaining again: Stir one scoop in 4-
6 oz. of water. For faster results, consume 4 servings daily for the first 5 days. Then
consume one or two servings daily. Best times are pre or post training, or just before a
meal on non-training days. (This way you get to use the natural insulin production that
occurs maximally with balanced meals rather than relying on expensive insulin mimicking
substances.)
Muscle Synergy - $48.95
Filling the 'hole' in the Supplement Industry
Building and keeping muscle are 2 different processes
Increasing the size of your muscles is as much about building muscle as it is keeping it.
The nutritional needs of each process are different, something virtually all dietary
supplements have overlooked.
Finally, you can address both muscle growth ('building') and muscle maintenance
('keeping') with new Muscle Synergy, a formula available only from Beverly International
Nutrition.
Make bigger gains and keep them with NEW Muscle Synergy Hard come, easy go. Yes, if
you're a hard gainer, then even the subtlest inefficiency in the way you train or your approach
to nutrition can cause the muscle you've worked so hard for to shrink, sometimes overnight.
A powerful solution has finally arrived in the form of new Muscle Synergy. Muscle Synergy
contains a synergistic blend of natural, non-steroidal compounds intended to both enhance
resistance-training induced muscle growth and protect against muscle loss.
It bears repeating: Muscle growth and muscle maintenance are two distinct processes
characterized by distinct nutritional and non-nutritional needs. Muscle Synergy is the only
product on the market that addresses this fact.
A daily serving of new Muscle Synergy provides:
Niacin (nicotinic acid; 200 mg): Nicotinic acid (NA), a form of niacin, brings about a rapid
increase in the diameter of your blood vessels (i.e., vasodilation), thereby promoting blood
flow and overall vascularity. This makes getting and keeping a pump easier.
NA also increases circulating growth hormone levels, both at rest and in response to your
workouts. Niacin-containing supplements have been found to increase GH levels in healthy
subjects, a number of whom have reported increases in muscle mass (Deijen, 2004,
personal communication; from Arwert et al., 2003).
Creatine (3000 mg): Besides its well-known effects on muscle strength, power and work
capacity, creatine promotes cell volumization ('swelling'). This potent anabolic signal
accelerates glycogen synthesis (Robinson et al., 1999) and over muscle fiber size and
thickness.
Arginine (7000 mg): The more muscle you gain, the greater the demand on creatine-
synthesizing pathways to supply extra creatine to the newly added tissue. Arginine is
required for the synthesis of creatine. Almost 2.5 grams of arginine are required to match
the daily loss of creatine (as creatinine) in a 70-kg (~154-lb) male. By combining arginine
with creatine, more arginine is free to promote nitrogen retention (essential for building
muscle) and enhance sodium and water excretion (so-called 'muscle hardening' effects).
"[O]rally administered arginine hydrochloride certainly has anabolic effects by increasing
insulin secretion. This molecule has been often used for its anti-asthenic effects in
convalescent patients. Weight gain often occurs in patients receiving this therapy. This
weight gain is often considered to be a side effect but is to be taking into account when
arginine is consumed."
From: Arginine researcher Dr. Adrien Schaefer (Schaefer, 2004; personal communication)
HMB (3000 mg): Each serving of new Muscle Synergy delivers 1.5 grams of beta-hydroxy-
beta-methylbutyrate (HMB). The purpose of HMB is summarized nicely by the title of a recent
scientific paper on this compound, "Supplementing with beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate
(HMB) to build and maintain muscle mass." (Alon et al., 2002).
In a nutshell, HMB helps protect your muscles from excess protein breakdown, thereby
allowing you to avoid the frustrating '2 steps forward (gain), 1 step back (lose)' syndrome so
common with hard gainers.
Tyrosine (2000 mg): The faster and harder you work your muscles, the more you deplete
your nervous system of neurotransmitters, certain of which (e.g., norepinephrine) are made
from tyrosine.
Each serving of new Muscle Synergy supports the rapid replenishment of tyrosine-based
neurotransmitters, allowing you to 'zap' your muscles into growth workout after workout with
less risk of 'electrochemical exhaustion'.
The effects of tyrosine are strengthened even further with the addition of Rhodiola rosea
(410 mg; 3% rosavins, 1% salidroside) a performance-enhancing adaptogen of European
and Mongolian origins that provides what users describe as 'pleasant, stress-relieving'
benefits along with a jitter-free mental 'edge' that has to be experienced to be fully
appreciated.
Fight the entire muscle-building battle ---and win!
Many 'bodybuilding' supplements claim to accelerate the building of muscle. But that's only
half of the muscle-building formula. Muscle Synergy accelerates muscle building, plus it
helps you keep the muscle you do manage to build. That's why it works so well.
Invest in your cycle of Muscle Synergy today. See and feel why people are raving about the
incredible results it produces!
ZMA - $19.95
Many world class athletes are reporting tremendous benefits from ZMA, in the gym, as well
as on the athletic field. For example, more than 250 NFL players are currently taking ZMA.
Lester Archambeau, starting defensive end for last year's NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons,
says he is, "extremely satisfied with ZMA. ZMA definitely helps me recover! I can tell when I
take it and when I don't. There is no doubt that it makes me sleep better." And when it
comes to the gym, the big Falcon claims, "I have much better endurance when taking ZMA."
Bryce Paup, Jacksonville Jaguar's multi-All Pro defensive end and 1995 Defensive Player of
the Year (he led the NFL with 17.5 sacks) has also been taking advantage of ZMA. Paup
says, "When I take ZMA, I sleep better and more soundly, and I feel more rested when I
wake up." And when it comes to the football field, Paup claims, "The more I rest and the
better I sleep, the better I perform on the field."
In addition to the professional football players, more than 25 IFBB pro bodybuilders have
benefited from using ZMA. Flex Wheeler (2000 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Champion)
says "I can't believe how much better I feel using ZMA. I have greater output. I'm stronger in
everything. I wake up very well rested, and my workouts have gone better!"
Michael Ashley (1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Champion) claims "ZMA is the most
effective recovery supplement I've used in my entire bodybuilding career! A deep and restful
sleep is the secret to maximizing the anabolic process."
While zinc and magnesium deficiencies are common in the general population,
deficiencies of these minerals are even more prevalent in athletes. Research shows that
rigorous training results in significantly greater bodily losses of zinc and magnesium. (3), (4)
In 1998, BALCO Laboratories in Burlingame, California, tested the mineral status of over
250 NFL players, including the entire Denver Broncos Super Bowl championship team, as
well as the entire Miami Dolphins team. Over 70% of these football players were found to be
either depleted or deficient in zinc and magnesium. After correcting their zinc and
magnesium deficiencies with appropriate ZMA supplementation, many of these athletes
have report very positive results. John Gamble, strength and conditioning coach for the
Miami Dolphins, reports that "players using ZMA are cramping much less and seem to be
getting a much more deep and restful sleep which significantly enhances their recovery".
The NCAA football players in the ZMA study had reduced baseline blood levels of both zinc
and magnesium as well. However, eight weeks of nightly ZMA supplementation was very
effective in optimizing their levels of these minerals, resulting in dramatic increases in their
anabolic hormone levels as well as muscular strength. (1)
Most of the prohormone experts have recommended that women in particular should not
consume prohomones. However, BEV ZMA is a very effective product for women. In a study
involving nationally ranked elite bodybuilders, eleven female bodybuilders were found to
consume an average of 9 mg of zinc per day. This is only 76% of the RDA for zinc, which is
12 mg per day for the average female. (5) The recommended dosage of BEV ZMA for
women contains 20 mg of elemental zinc. This is a more appropriate dosage for female
athletes, because rigorous exercise and stress causes even greater bodily losses of zinc.
Another group that has been advised by the experts to avoid taking prohormones are
teenage male athletes. However, I think it would be beneficial for young male athletes to
take an appropriate daily dosage of BEV ZMA. The RDA for zinc for males 11 years and up is
15 mg per day. Two capsules of BEV ZMA contain 20 mg of zinc and 300 mg of magnesium,
appropriate daily dosages for physically active young men, 13 to 17 years of age.
To summarize, ZMA is rapidly becoming the preferred natural testosterone-boosting
supplement by strength athletes who were previously using prohormones. This is because
ZMA has two very important advantages over prohormones. First, ZMA doesn't need to be
cycled, because ZMA will not suppress your own endogenous production of testosterone
like prohormones. ZMA may be taken on a continuous basis, while the prohormone
proponents suggest that they be cycled. Secondly, since BEV ZMA is not a prohormone or
hormone precursor, it is not banned by any athletic organizations including the NCAA, NFL
or the U.S. Olympic Committee.
In conclusion, I'm optimistic that the science of BEV ZMA will eventually help to establish an
entirely new category of all natural sports performance products called "Nighttime Anabolic
Formulas" or "Sleep and Recovery Aids". I believe that as more athletes begin to truly
understand the process of maximizing recovery, healing, tissue repair, anabolic hormone
production and muscle growth, they'll be rapidly spreading the "recover as you sleep"
gospel of ZMA.
